[TW]RammJaeger: The perks work a bit different here. Aside from not giving "griefing" perks like Martyr , the perks are very specialized by class. You can gain new abilities such as the ability to see invisible Zeds at close range, not be able to be grabbed by certain Zeds, etc. You also get better prices on weapons linked to your class as you level up.

[TW]Wilsonam: It is reasonably easy to kill... but you don't want to be stuck in one place - plus one of the Perks stops Clots grappling you

[TW]RammJaeger: Their a disaster response force

[TW]RammJaeger: But basically, the trader randomly appears in different places between waves.

[TW]RammJaeger: You need to use the trader to get more ammo, better weapons, equipment, etc

[TW]Yoshiro: MF! Soldier: 2. Killing Floor is a fairly complex game, correct? How will you make gameplay more acessible to everyone

[TW]RammJaeger: So this keeps you moving around the level.

[F.U.D.]Sanzliot: Answer to MF! Soldier : 2 . To make the gameplay more accessable we followed some wisdom we learned from our friends at Valve. We used data from playtesters to help the game be more accessable. We took people that haven't played the game, and based off they're performance and feedback we adjusted the gameplay where testers had trouble getting certain gameplay concepts.

[F.U.D.]Sanzliot: One example is finding the trader, in which people had a lot of trouble knowing that they needed to get to the trader and also being able to find it, we did a lot of work on getting this across to the trader via the interface and in game FX

[TWI]Zerisus: With some enemies it's important to keep on the move because they are very powerful and will easily break through your defensive line. The last thing you want to do is get cornered by a fleshpound or a bloat.

[TW]Yoshiro: - Belmont: Hello, I was wondering if in Killing Floor we will have automatically played voices about your current status - for example, when you reload, will your character yell that he's realoading?

[TW]Wilsonam: Auto-played voices: yes, there are some - not too many We wanted to have voices for those things you actually need to hear... reloading when you are in a tight spot, when you are clean out of ammo, busy dying... that sort of thing

[TW]Yoshiro: Sam and Dave: Here's my question, I understand that the main mode is to clear the area of specimens out and kill the boss to win the game. I also understand that there will be SDK modders that will create their own mods for this game. What I want to know if there will be official new releases of a different mode made by the dev team themselves and released as a patch??? Thanks!

[TW]RammJaeger: We're working with an international server hosting company so we'll have servers all over.

[TW]RammJaeger: Also, the game runs well on a listen server, so you can even host one yourself, and play with five of your friends.

[F.U.D.]Sanzliot: Answer to Sam and Dave: We have a lot of ideas for possilbe new modes for Killing Floor, but we can't officially confirm any at this point. In the mean time players can play with sandbox mode and create they're own variations of our main gametype.

[TW]Wilsonam: Just so people know - we have over 200 questions queued up, Yoshi now has about 200 chat windows open - and his dog is barking at us...

[TW]Yoshiro: - Criogenetik: A question;how hard is make the feature Z.E.D.?and when i use Z.E.D in multiplayer,the other players have the some mine "slow" effect?thanks and sorry for the english

[TW]RammJaeger: ZEDTime was a little tricky to make, but not too hard. And yes when used in multiplayer everyone gets the effect. The initial reaction to this is always "Won't that be annoying in MP"? But the effect is very short, and everyone that has played it so far really enjoys the feature. It's more like a quick reward for a really cool Zed kill.

[TW]RammJaeger: Usually your blasting away at a Specimen as well, so you're happy for a quick blast of slo motion

[TW]Yoshiro: Ralfst3r: Ok Yosh, throwing a q yourway already: How does the weapon aquiring/buying work?

[TW]schneidzekk: You can pick up weapons in the level but usually you will go to the trader and buy weapon/equipment there.

[TW]Yoshiro: Nethlem: Will there be global stats? Like speciems killed, what weapons got used how much and so on?

[TW]RammJaeger: There are global stats that we're tracking using Steamworks behind the scenes. Some of these are visible in game as they are how you aquire your perks. Others are not shown in game. But we've got some plans post release to put some of these stats up on the Steam Stats page for each player for the game.

[TW]Yoshiro: KarboLab: rumors , maybe facts that people see some kind of stalker in the KF trailer are they true?

[TW] Sanzliot: Answer to KarboLab. There is indead a Stalker in the trailer. She's in her cloak mode and hard to see. Keep an eye out for some new screenshots featuring her this week.

[TWI]Zerisus: The Axe is great fun! There nothing better the cutting off a clots head! Your going to want to stay away from the Bloat though.

[TW]RammJaeger: Yes decapitation is one of my favorite features

[TWI]Zerisus: never gets old

[TW]RammJaeger: Melee is one of the really great parts of the game. Melee is very viable, and really fun.

[TW]Yoshiro: W1: How fast is the movement in the game? Is it comparable to counterstrike source ? Also what about aiming? Is there a lot of recoil or is it a bit of a balance between arcade type shooting and realisitic shooting?

[TW]Xienen: The movement is only a small bit slower than Counter-Strike source. There is no cross-hair in the game, so the aiming is hugely different from CS:S in a good way. You will be required to use the 3D Iron Sights to aim accurately at the heads of the onslaught. The recoil is what I would consider in between realistic and arcadey. We want the game to be realistically friendly.

[TW]RammJaeger: The movement is a lot quicker than our other game RO, but not as silly fast as some other games. There are no crosshairs, but the aiming is pretty easy as every weapon has ironsights. Also, the recoil is pretty subtle. So essentially, its very geared toward action, with the possibly for your own skill to really matter in making headshots, etc.

[TWI]Zerisus: Presales are going great! we've been on second place for the top sellers list for a week now!

[TW]Yoshiro: inFurnace: My question(s): How did Tripwire find/bump into Alex Quick? Did they find him or did he come to them?

[TW]RammJaeger: Alex actually approached the team (talking to Yoshiro and then me), about converting from a UT2k4 mod over to an RO mod. He was interested in getting the game up on Steam like we have done for some of our other mods. When we actually played his mod though, we found that it was so fun that we started thinking about taking it commercial. The more we we played it the more addictive we found it, with devs hooking up after work to play it. So at that point we decided this was something we should buy in and polish up as a commercial game. Basically we took a cue from Valve, as they've done the same thing many times with games like CS, Portal, etc.

[TW]RammJaeger: And I'll just add, we're always on the look out for the next "Killing Floor", so I'll just say its a good idea to mod for TWI's games

[TW]Yoshiro: Meroko: Will the Big ZEDs kill the littler ZEDs to get to the players faster like in the trailer?

[TW]schneidzekk: Absolutely. For some reason the Pound does not really like the small guys.

[TW]RammJaeger: Yes, the music from the trailer is in game. Zynthetic did most of the music for the game which ranges from ambient, electronic, industrial, rock/metal. The cut on the trailer was actually from my former band Dirge, and the song was called Disunion.

[TW]Xienen: Server Lists will be available through the Steam Server Browser as well as our own standard in game Server Browser, like other games, such as Counter-Strike: Source. You will be able to use your Steam Friends List to join friends, just as you can with the Source-based games.

[TW]Zerisus: no theres no auto pistols in KF, not yet anyway. And accuracy is affected when using dualies.

[TW]Wilsonam: krakadict: why would you want to drag a body around with you? It might decoy some of the ZEDs as they stop to munch on it

[TW]RammJaeger: Yes the SDK will allow all forums of mods, mutators, and maps. Just like our other game RO which had 100+ custom maps, several really nice total conversions, etc. Thankfully,the Unreal Editor is one of the best known and easiest to use modding tools in the indust. We're really looking forward to see what poeple make for the game. Most custom maps/content will be able to be autodownloaded from maps when you connect just like in RO. Full Mods will need to be downloaded from a website. But, if any mods are really nice, we'll put them up on Steam just like we did for RO mods.

[TW]Wilsonam: Hey Fed: on 1 - yes, of course! It wouldn't be Tripwire if we didn't. On the second question - 5 maps, each of which takes about 45mins to an hour to beat on Normal difficulty...

[TW]RammJaeger: Yep you'll be able to pre-load several days before the release so you'll be ready to rock when the game goes live on the 14th.

[TW] Sanzliot: answer to above question: There are currently 6 player varients. We have designs for a lot of additional characters that we'd like to add post launch, including civilains and scientists that are forced to fight off the specimans.

[TW]Wilsonam: Maxing out the perks: we've tried to set it up on a sliding scale, so that the first levels come quite easily - but it could take 100+ hours of solid gameplay to max a perk out. Although we just know some people will be trying a mad sprint to do the whole lot in a week

[TW]Wilsonam: And no, they aren't FAQ answers (yet)... we're trying to churn through them all and answer them fairly live!

The clot tends to grab onto players, and hold them down so his chums can get stuck in. Stalkers have the ability to turn invisible, and will only break the illusion to attack, or ... die. Gorefasts seem like no big deal, but when they get close enough to ya, they'll suddenly freak out and start sprinting.

He's also got the kind of training that lets him see enemy health conditions above his enemies heads. Lastly, he can spot invisible stalkers !

Alex: Firebug - He's basically a nutter who enjoys making things burn. He gets resistance to flames, extra damage with flamethrower and can buy that weapon at a discount

[TW]Zerisus: my favorite perk is the sharp shooter. once you level up you can take out lower level freaks extremly fast with your trusty lever action rifle. Not to mention dual handcannons is total ownage!

Alex: Support Specialist -> If you like big guns, this is your guy. He can hold more equipment than anyone else, his grenades and shotguns deal more damage. And he's great and welding doors shut !

[TW]RammJaeger: The coop play isn't a story campaign, its individual open levels that you fight through waves. But it isn't like L4D survival, every level has an ending.

[TW]RammJaeger: The difficulty scales way better now, easy is really easy, normal is challenging for the average CS player, hard is really hard, and suicidal is insane
